Employment Picture Improves for IT Pros
The overall employment picture continues to improve in the US, even with all of the high-tech layoffs and the possibility of a recession. In March there was only one state that we classify as a high unemployment state (5.0% or worse unemployment rate). That state was Nevada with a 5.5% rate for the second month in a row.
At the same time, the number of states at full employment increased from 15 in February to 20 in March. Fourteen (14) of the full-employment states had a reduced unemployment rate. The remaining six (6) (Oklahoma - 3%, Kansas – 2.9%, Florida – 2.6%, Iowa – 2.6%, Utah – 2.4%, and North Dakota – 2.1% had the same unemployment rate in March as in February.
