IT Job Market shrinks by over 200K jobs in the last 24 months

IT Pro unemployment rate is 5.0% - the third month in a row it is higher than the US National Unemployment rate

Park City – UT – e-janco.com – Janco reports terminations exceeded hiring for IT Professionals in the last 3 quarters. The unemployment rate for IT Pros spiked at 5.7% in January and dipped to 5.0% in March.

The CEO of Janco, M. Victor Janulaitis said, “There continues to be uncertainty in the outlook for IT initiatives except for AI implementations which focus on staff reductions. Jobs that have been lost are in the telecommunication and support functions. Many of the telecommunications jobs have taken the brunt of the AI staff reduction efforts.”
