Recession Hit IT - 129K IT Pros Unemployed

Recession looms for IT Pros as over 129K are out of work - BLS reduces the number of IT jobs created in the prior two months by 14,100

Janco reports the overall unemployment rate for IT pros is showing the first signs of a recession.  The BLS made a major adjustment to the number of jobs created in March and April.  They reduced the number of jobs by 14,100. 

In the first 5 months of 2024, the overall IT Job market has been reduced by 9,000 jobs. The unemployment rate for IT Pros is 4.7% which is higher than the national unemployment rate.
