As we enter the summer there are some signs that the growth of the IT Job Market will be impacted by a recession. Two areas where those signs are appearing are college campuses and Wall Street. There are reports that employers are pulling back job offers to recent graduates who had not formally accepted offers or who had not started work. On Wall Street, recruiters have stopped scheduling interviews.
On the other hand, over there are over 100,000 unfilled positions for IT Pros who have not been filled due to a lack of qualified candidates. That number of positions has been at that level for several months.
IT Job Market Growth
The job losses from the pandemic have all been recovered. Demand is currently high as the job market continues to expand to historic highs.
So far this year the IT job market has increased by over 91,000 jobs.
